Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assemble patient meal trays according to defined portion sizes and tray tickets.
  • Portion and prepare food items as indicated on tallies, prep charts, and nourishment labels.
  • Stock and replenish food and supplies in designated areas.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, small wares, and service areas.
  • Label and deliver carts to designated areas.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance Programs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in food service is an asset.
  • Minimum Grade 10, Manitoba Standards required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment (3-10 degrees) and/or warm environment.
  • Ability to lift 20 to 45 lbs and stand for long periods of time.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to chemical cleaning supplies.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tasks and demonstrate accurate hand/eye coordination with manual dexterity in both hands.
