About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Red Seal Truck and Equipment Repair. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for performing precision machining operations to repair and maintain our equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform precision machining operations to repair and maintain our equipment, including machine tools and parts.
  • Setup and Adjustment: Set up and adjust production machineries/tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Quality Control: Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments and document any deviations from specifications.
  • Equipment Operation: Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods and lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experience with automatic lathes, boring machines, cylindrical grinders, and other machine tools.
  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machines: Experience with CNC machines and computer-controlled machine tools.
  • Transportation: Valid driver's license and ability to use public transportation.
