Experienced Payroll and Benefits Administrator

O'Hanlon Paving, a leading road construction company in Edmonton, is seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join their team. This is a permanent full-time position based at their head office in Edmonton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll operations for multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations and filings, including CPP, EI, and income tax.
- Administer employee benefit plans, including group insurance, accidental death insurance, and enrolment, revisions, and terminations.
- Provide support for fiscal year-end reconciliation and process yearly T4's, bonuses, and other allowances.
- Maintain and update payroll and benefits records, including leave of absences, departures, deductions, and other payroll-related changes.
- Coordinate with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless payroll integration with other company processes.
- Handle employee queries related to payroll and benefits issues and provide accurate guidance.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on payroll activities and discrepancies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of five years of payroll experience is required.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate would be beneficial.
- Competency in using computer software related to payroll and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now would be considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks and projects as needed.
- Highly motivated, service-oriented individual with high attention to detail and respectful communication skills.
