Experienced Payroll and Benefits Professional

O'Hanlon Paving, a leading road construction company in Edmonton, is seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, safety, and employee development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll operations for multiple companies within the group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations and filings, including CPP, EI, and income tax.
- Administer employee benefit plans, including group insurance, accidental death insurance, and enrolment.
- Provide support for fiscal year-end reconciliation and process yearly T4's, bonuses, and other allowances.
- Maintain and update payroll and benefits records, including leave of absences, departures, deductions, and other payroll-related changes.
- Coordinate with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless payroll integration with other company processes.
- Handle employee queries related to payroll and benefits issues and provide accurate guidance.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on payroll activities and discrepancies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of five years Payroll experience is required.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate would be beneficial.
- Competency in using computer software related to payroll and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now would be considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks and projects as needed.
- Highly motivated, service-oriented individual with high attention to detail.
