Job Summary

The Environmental Analyst will work closely with the Director, Health, Safety & Environment to administer the Environmental Management System (EMS) and regulatory activities for Northwest Territories Power Corporation. The successful candidate will coordinate external consultants, conduct environmental audits, and supervise environmental projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and policies.
  • Coordinate with other divisions to inform employees of environmental policies and guidelines.
  • Respond to hazardous substance releases and regulatory reporting.
  • Conduct field inspections and audits of operating and storage sites.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders through written correspondence and in-person meetings.
  • Develop and implement management plans for environmental projects.
  • Procure environmental resources and services.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an environmental or environmental engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in environmental assessments, remediation, and/or environmental project management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and environmental software.
  • Class 5 driver's license.
  • Satisfactory criminal record check.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $52.18/hr - $63.40/hr.
  • Location allowance: approximately $4,642 per annum.
