Salary Range

The salary for this role is estimated to be between $41.42 and $59.52 per hour, based on industry standards and the location.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) insertions to join our team as a Nurse Care Specialist, Medicine. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals receiving IV therapy in an acute medical unit or outpatient setting.

Your responsibilities will include performing PICC insertions, venipuncture, and initiating IV infusion devices; monitoring line status and troubleshooting issues; collaborating with patients and families/caregivers to develop care plans; and providing education and support to promote self-care and independence.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, with a focus on IV therapy and PICC insertions. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.

You will also need to meet the following qualifications:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Advanced proficiencies in peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) insertions
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes
