The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide engineering and construction-related project management and technical oversight of planning, design, analysis, and studies for domestic and international geotechnical and Heavy Civil (Tunnel) projects.

  • Support geotechnical and Heavy Civil Business Line projects
  • Perform site visits of on-going construction work and overseeing geotechnical field investigations, may require up to 30% field work.
  • Prepare design materials for basic design assignments. This includes basic analysis, design calculations, equipment research, sketches, etc., required to prepare documents, specifications drawings or to meet other project requirements.
  • Review manufacturer's drawings with respect to B&V design criteria; marks for conformance.
  • Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables.
  • Plan and conduct independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Review lower-level engineering work or assignments.
  • Coordinate design with other personnel working on the same project to minimize design conflicts.
  • Perform special studies or analyses of specific portions of a project; study includes research, investigation, or coordination.
  • Coordinate with personnel in other departments and client personnel to review designs and resolve areas of concern.
  • Supervise the engineering work of assigned Drafters, Designers, and subordinate Engineers. This includes work assignments, scheduling, and review.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for an assigned portion of a major project or the total project of moderate scope.
  • Develop alternate methods, techniques, or design concepts as required to resolve unique design problems.
Key Responsibilities

This role requires a strong understanding of geotechnical and Heavy Civil engineering principles and practices. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of providing technical oversight and project management for complex engineering projects.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program and a minimum of 11 years of related work experience. You must also be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include a criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Preferred Qualifications

8 years of experience performing engineering-related duties with previous experience in Tunneling, Dams, Buried Infrastructure, Linear Infrastructure, and/or Hydropower.

  • Hybrid Work Schedule (3 Days in Office/2 days Remote)
  • Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation).
