Who are we seeking?
Our Tunnel Group is in search of a Senior Tunnel Engineer to become part of our dynamic team. This role will facilitate project work within GHD's Rail and Transportation sector and support various tunneling initiatives.

Collaborating with a vibrant and high-achieving team, this position offers diverse responsibilities and will involve:
- Demonstrating leadership in the development and execution of projects that enhance GHD's engagement through the use of multidisciplinary teams, thereby improving our client's experience.
- Addressing technical and administrative tasks related to the development of tunnel projects.
- Collaborating effectively with our Joint Venture partners and clients.
- Preparing comprehensive design reports and construction documentation.
- Coordinating with other disciplines, professionals, clients, and third parties as necessary.
- Drafting PSOS specifications.
- Managing soft ground tunneling ancillary activities, including ground treatment and dewatering.
- Preparing GBRs and reviewing GDRs and geotechnical investigation plans for tunnel and underground structures.
- Calculating tunneling-induced settlement and analyzing potential impacts on adjacent infrastructure.
What you will contribute to the team:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
- A Master's degree in Tunnel or Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
- Chartered status is required or in progress.
- Proven experience in technical leadership and management of tunnel engineering and transportation projects.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 10 years in tunnel and underground projects.
- Demonstrated capability in leading tunnel design and supervision teams for major interdisciplinary tunneling projects.
- Experience with various types of tunnel projects, including bored and NATM.
- Expertise in designing large-diameter tunnels in soft ground.
- Proficiency in deep shaft and shoring design.
- Experience in rail transit tunnel and station design.
- Hands-on experience with analytical and numerical analysis methods, as well as tunnel and precast concrete segmental tunnel linings design.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork abilities.
