Who are we seeking?

Our Tunnel Group is on the lookout for a Senior Tunnel Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position will facilitate project execution within GHD's Rail and Transportation sector and support various tunneling initiatives both nationally and internationally.

As part of a vibrant and high-achieving team, this role offers diverse responsibilities, including:

Demonstrating leadership in the development and execution of projects that enhance GHD's involvement through the use of multi-disciplinary teams, improving client interactions with GHD Addressing technical and administrative duties related to the development of subway tunnels and water infrastructure projects Collaborating effectively with our Joint Venture partners and clients Compiling detailed design reports and construction documentation Coordinating with other disciplines, professionals, clients, and external parties as necessary Preparing PSOS specifications Managing soft ground tunneling ancillary tasks, including ground treatment, dewatering, and ground freezing Drafting GBRs, reviewing GDRs, and planning geotechnical investigations for tunnel and underground structures Analyzing tunneling-induced settlement and assessing potential impacts on adjacent infrastructure

What you will contribute to the team:

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering A Master's degree in Tunnel or Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous Chartered status is required or in progress Proven experience in technical leadership and management of tunnel engineering and transportation or rail projects 15 years of experience, with at least 10 years focused on tunnel and underground projects Demonstrated ability to lead tunnel design and supervision teams for significant interdisciplinary tunneling projects Experience with various tunnel project types, including bored and NATM Proficiency in designing large-diameter tunnels in soft ground (6m +) Expertise in deep shaft and shoring design Experience in rail transit tunnel and station design Practical experience with analytical and numerical analysis methods, as well as tunnel, precast concrete segmental tunnel linings, and shaft design Ability to coordinate with other disciplines, professionals, clients, and external parties as necessary Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork abilities
