Director of University Records and Information

Queen's University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of University Records and Information to oversee and lead the university's records management program.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide leadership and expert advice in the management of the university's records and information, and assume operational responsibilities related to the university's records management program. This includes providing guidance on the systematic management of active and semi-active records from creation to final disposition, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and expertise in university records and information management.
- Maintain and update university records management policies and procedures in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and establish strategic and operational records and information management priorities in consultation with the Director, University Records Management and Chief Privacy Officer.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the university's Records Retention Schedule.
- Implement and maintain the university's Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS).
- Serve as the primary contact for semi-active records storage, retrieval, circulation, and refiling services.
- Provide advice and assistance to units in implementing records and information management procedures and practices.
- Facilitate, lead, and chair the University Records Management Committee.
- Prepare and deliver training programs for university employees on records and information management issues.
- Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree in a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of professional work experience in a post-secondary or public sector environment.
- Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation an asset.
- Familiarity with the university's decentralized structure, governance processes, and constituencies.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of records management theory, methodology, and practice, including principles and practices that promote access, protection, and preservation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, are essential. The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
