Training Program Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Training Program Manager to join our team at FortisAlberta Inc. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and implementing training programs for various employees on a range of topics.

Job Responsibilities- Manage training programs with a strong focus on safety, including the development and delivery of training program/courses/sessions on work methods.
- Conduct on-job training and field observations.
- Lead groups of Journeyman and Apprentice PLTs in classroom and practical training sessions.
- Work with customers to identify, develop, and deliver training programs, ensuring all training programs conform to corporate standards and/or policies.
- Coordinate with vendors to develop and deliver curriculum that meets company needs, ensuring and resolving any matters related to corporate standards, policies, and practices.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop courses and train SMEs on program delivery and provide feedback on the effectiveness of their classes.
- Assist Work Methods and Safety in the development, maintenance, and training of company standards and procedures.
- Support Operations Managers and field staff on technical and training issues.
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of existing training programs, making recommendations to change or improve.
- Continuously update training materials to reflect changes in regulations, standards, technology, and audience.
- Operate and maintain the distribution system, line tools, and facilities at the Employee Development Centre.
- Provide end-user support for custom company software programs used by field staff.
- A Journeyman Power Line Technician certificate plus a minimum of five (5) years of field work experience as a journeyman is required.
- Valid Class 5 driver's permit is required.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology would be considered an asset.
- Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education (CACE) would be a definite asset.
- A Journeyman Power Systems Electrician certificate would be an asset.
- Current Substation Switching certificate would be an asset.
- Current System Switching certificate would be an asset.
$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
