Job Title: Labour Relations Specialist

At the Canadian Association of Labour Media, we are seeking a highly skilled Labour Relations Specialist to join our team. As a Labour Relations Specialist, you will play a critical role in promoting and protecting the rights of workers in the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Labour Relations: Develop and implement effective labour relations strategies to promote positive working relationships between employees and management.
  • Collective Bargaining: Negotiate collective agreements with employers on behalf of our members, ensuring that their rights and interests are protected.
  • Grievance Handling: Investigate and resolve grievances in a fair and timely manner, ensuring that employees' rights are upheld.
  • Member Engagement: Develop and implement programs to engage and educate members on labour relations issues and promote their participation in the union.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication channels with members, employers, and other stakeholders to ensure that labour relations issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
Requirements:
  • Education: A degree in Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in labour relations, preferably in a union environment.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of labour laws and regulations, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
