About the Role

Tandem Engineering Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to support business growth and objectives.
  • Oversee all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization, ensuring compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including financial statements, special analyses, and information reports.
  • Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures to ensure internal control safeguards.
  • Collaborate with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
Requirements
  • University Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • MBA or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of American federal and state financial regulations and Canadian Federal and Provincial regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision or VantagePoint accounting and project management software.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and engineering industries.
  • Experience creating and managing budgets for a large, multi-company organization.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Knowledge of best practices in internal controls.
