We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) in our Bedford location.
Qualifications:
- A graduate of an approved CCA/PCW program with NS provincial certification, or CCA students who have completed their second mentorship, or students currently enrolled in LPN or RN programs, or PSWs, IENs, Health Care Aides, or other applicable courses, or individuals registered with the PLAR program with NSHA.
- Current Standard First-Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous related experience is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and clinical skills.
- Able to work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends and holidays, and maintain regular and consistent attendance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide service to residents in accordance with individual care plans.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, such as tidying rooms and cleaning closets.
- Assist residents with meals and between-meal refreshments.
- Provide respite care to families and caregivers.
- Engage residents and families in leisure and recreational activities.
- Facilitate resident and family participation in recreation programs.
