About the Role

Sener en Ingeniería is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Director to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our business development team, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our existing clients and project base in Canada and positioning the firm to acquire new business in the mobility sector.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Canadian rail and transit market, as well as a proven track record of establishing and maintaining client relationships. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth, identifying priorities and strategic opportunities in the Canadian market, and leading business development efforts including market research, client relationships, and teaming processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth in the Canadian market.
  2. Identify priorities and strategic opportunities in the Canadian market.
  3. Lead business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, and teaming processes.
  4. Develop and maintain client relationships to drive business growth.
  5. Work effectively with Sener's proposals and bid team to secure contracts.
  6. Negotiate with clients, partners, and subcontractors to drive business growth.
  7. Monitor and maintain the opportunity pipeline to optimize business development plans.
  8. Partner with market leaders to drive collaboration on pursuits.
  9. Ensure local marketplace reputation through established relationships and support of leadership.

Requirements:

  1. 8-10 years of experience in business development at the Director or Senior Manager level.
  2. Deep knowledge of the local business market from a technical and business standpoint.
  3. Proven track record of establishing and maintaining client relationships in the Canadian rail and transit market.
  4. Business analytical skills and knowledge of advanced negotiating approaches and tactics.
  5. Ability to maintain existing client relationships and develop new ones.
  6. Ability to report data and analyze data for relevant trends.
  7. Well-organized, energetic, and able to work well under pressure.
  8. Ability to work independently and take discretionary initiative.
  9. Good communication and presentation skills.
  10. Ability to speak Spanish is an asset but not mandatory.
  11. Engineering background is an asset in Civil or Rail Engineering.
  12. Strong computer proficiency, especially PowerPoint, and Excel.
  13. Entrepreneurial attitude and mindset.
