About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Cafeteria Cashier to join our team at SNB Ferry Cafe. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet customers, respond to their inquiries, and resolve any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Cash Handling: Operate a cash register, process transactions, and manage cash and credit card payments.
  • Inventory Management: Restock shelves, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and ensure a high level of presentation.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales targets, maintain a positive work environment, and support the overall success of the cafe.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Participate in initiatives that support the settlement and integration of newcomers and refugees.
  • Assist with their immediate settlement needs, such as housing, transportation, and storage.
  • Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who have been displaced by conflict or natural disasters.
Support for Youths
  • Participate in programs that support youth employment and education.
  • Offer on-the-job training and mentorship to young employees.
  • Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
Support for Indigenous People
  • Participate in initiatives that support Indigenous people and promote cultural competency.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
Work Environment
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 30 to 36 hours per week
