We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Safety Specialist to join our team in Dartmouth, NS. As a key member of our Fire and Life Safety division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of buildings across the province.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, entry-level position that offers a comprehensive training program and opportunities for career advancement. As a Fire Alarm Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting monthly visual inspections of fire and life safety systems, documenting and submitting reports, and assisting senior technicians with inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of recurring monthly visual inspections of emergency lighting and fire extinguishers throughout the province.
  • Establish an efficient route that maximizes utilization.
  • Use accurate real-time debriefing through an electronic work order management system.
  • Complete and submit electronic inspection reports.
  • Responsible for meeting customer expectations while assisting quality inspections; and maintaining a professional demeanor with customers.
  • Assist lead technicians with day-to-day duties including reading and interpreting reports, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Follow the safety program and complete all safety training and pre-job checklists as required.
  • Other roles and responsibilities as identified by your manager/supervisor.

About You:

  • You hold a diploma or degree in Electronic Technology or a related field.
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You are able to sit or stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • You have a valid driver's license without restrictions and a clean driving record.
  • You are willing to travel within the province and work overnight out of town as required.
