About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Cardiology Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health in the Central Zone.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms, signal average electrocardiograms, ambulatory monitoring, and exercise tolerance testing. The specialist will also prepare patients for these tests and ensure that they are performed accurately and efficiently.

In addition to their technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.

The Diagnostic Cardiology Specialist will work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols.

This is a full-time long-assignment position, requiring 30 hours per biweekly pay period, with shifts including days, nights, and weekends. Travel to various sites may be required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Grade 12 plus successful completion of a Cardiology Technology program or acceptable equivalent
  • Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists
  • Current BLS (HCP) certification
  • Recent clinical experience in an ECG Department and demonstrated proficiency in performing EKGs, Holter Monitors, and Stress Testing
  • Strong sense of initiative and responsibility
  • Ability to adapt to flexible workload and stressful situations
  • Basic Keyboarding/computer skills
  • WHIMIS certification
  • Fire and Safety knowledge

The estimated salary for this position is $28.71 - $30.83 per hour, depending on experience.
