Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Sous-Chef to join our team at Northern Motor Inn. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting the head chef in managing daily kitchen operations, supervising cooking staff, and maintaining high-quality food standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Operations: Assist the head chef in planning and preparing menus, ordering supplies, and managing kitchen inventory.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and train junior cooks, ensuring they adhere to health and safety protocols and maintain high-quality food standards.
- Cooking Techniques: Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff, promoting innovation and excellence in culinary practices.
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events, such as banquets, ensuring attention to detail and presentation.
- Maintenance of Standards: Ensure food meets quality standards, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience as a Sous-Chef or equivalent role.
- High school graduation certificate or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
