About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Northern Motor Inn. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of food, ensuring high-quality standards are met, and providing exceptional service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of specialist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
  • Develop and implement new cooking techniques and menus to enhance the dining experience for our guests.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute special events, such as banquets and buffets.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards, meeting the quality and presentation expectations of our guests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Recruit, train, and develop the skills of kitchen staff to ensure they are equipped to provide exceptional service.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety standards.
