Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Laboratory Medicine Program, specifically in the Coagulation Laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and organizing the workload of technical staff, performing laboratory procedures, and ensuring the maintenance of quality control and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and organize the workload of technical staff to ensure efficient operation of the Coagulation Laboratory.
  • Perform laboratory procedures for all disciplines and functions, ensuring completion of assigned workload.
  • Maintain quality control and equipment within assigned areas of the laboratory.
  • Develop and implement new and/or revised procedures, protocols, and performance standards.
  • Assess technical staff performance and provide coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Participate in teaching, educational, safety, and quality improvement programs.

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program.
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO) required.
  • Five (5) years of recent laboratory experience in the Special Coagulation Laboratory is required.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of Coagulation.
  • Excellent problem-recognition and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to organize work and set priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
