Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic team in the Laboratory Medicine Program. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory services, conducting complex tests, and contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Prepare and document laboratory reports, test results, and other relevant data to support patient care and research.
- Participate in teaching, educational, safety, and quality improvement programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Stay up-to-date with hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance and excellence in laboratory practice.
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program.
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO).
- One year of recent laboratory experience in a large hospital Biochemistry Laboratory, preferred.
- Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately under stressful conditions.
- Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Computer literacy and ability to learn new software and systems.
