LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services is in search of a Medical Lab Technologist to become a part of our Histology division.

As a Medical Lab Technologist, you will be responsible for delivering precise and prompt interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. Your contributions through accuracy, quality, efficiency, and expedited test results will enhance patient well-being and promote improved health outcomes. This role is ideal for a meticulous, hands-on individual who excels in a dynamic, collaborative setting.

This position offers flexible part-time shifts, with working hours ranging from 20 to 37.5 hours per week.

Your key responsibilities will encompass:

  1. Executing a diverse array of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing.
  2. Performing, interpreting, and disseminating results while safeguarding patient confidentiality.
  3. Identifying incidents and non-conformities, contributing to the formulation of effective corrective action plans, and driving continuous improvement.
  4. Assisting in the assessment and implementation of new technologies.
  5. Engaging in problem-solving related to work organization and workflow.

LifeLabs facilities are recognized as teaching laboratories, providing opportunities for knowledge sharing in a collaborative atmosphere. You will have access to 24-hour medical support through our Medical Science team and Medical Library, along with the chance to mentor college and university student placements.

We seek individuals who can work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment while adhering to LifeLabs' standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency. Do you possess:

  1. A college diploma or university degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience.
  2. CMLTO registration.
  3. Strong communication skills to engage with a diverse range of individuals.
  4. Proficient computer skills and knowledge.
  5. Problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to identify and address issues.
  6. A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, patient privacy, and confidentiality.

Compensation Package:

The compensation range has been established, but the final salary will be influenced by experience level, educational requirements, external market conditions, and internal equity.
