Substance Use Services Leadership Specialist

About the RoleThe Regional Substance Use Lead will be responsible for implementing new policies, procedures, and legislation related to substance use services. This includes coordinating and planning the development of systems of care, as well as evaluating and revising existing policies and guidelines. The successful candidate will work closely with Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Leadership, Director(s) of Addiction Medicine and Substance Use Services, and other stakeholders to ensure that substance use services are delivered in a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed manner.
About the PositionThis is a full-time position based in Surrey, British Columbia. The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in a social or health sciences-related discipline and 5 years of recent experience in substance use services, including 2 years in service coordination and planning. They will also have demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches, as well as comprehensive knowledge of the spectrum of substance use issues and its co-occurrence with mental health disorders.
Responsibilities- Lead the implementation of new substance use policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Coordinate and plan the development of systems of care for youth and adults.
- Evaluate and revise existing policies and guidelines.
- Provide consultation to MHSU Directors, Managers, and contracted substance use service providers on complex substance use and/or concurrent disorder issues.
- Monitor and analyze quality and key performance indicators to ensure contract services requirements are met.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's Degree in a social or health sciences-related discipline.
- 5 years of recent experience in substance use services, including 2 years in service coordination and planning.
- Demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the spectrum of substance use issues and its co-occurrence with mental health disorders.
The estimated salary for this position is between CAD $45.46 - $65.35 per hour, based on your qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
