Job Title: Senior Payroll and Benefits Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Payroll and Benefits Manager to join our team at Pembina Trails School Division.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years of full-cycle payroll experience, with a strong background in accounting, payroll management, and unionized environments.

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of proficiency in relevant payroll software, as well as advanced computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the successful creation, implementation, integrity, and ongoing function of the Division's benefits and payroll systems.
  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, union dues, and other deductions.
  • Responsible for changes and maintenance of all payroll system configuration, including updating earning grids, deduction changes, mass employee changes, year-to-date adjustments, and performing payroll year-end roll-over processes.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8-10 years of full-cycle payroll experience.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., formal training in accounting, payroll designation) or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • Proficiency in relevant payroll and other related software.
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Salary:

$80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
