About the Role

This is a high-impact leadership position within the Canadian Banking Finance team at Scotiabank. As a Product Finance Director, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our business by leading a small team and reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Tangerine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership: Ensure the overall success of the Canadian Banking Finance team by executing specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.
  • Treasury Management: Lead all matters related to treasury, including the distribution of product funds transfer pricing (FTP) rates from treasury to the business lines to support timely, comprehensive, and robust pricing decisions.
  • Financial Modeling: Account for all business lines financial models to ensure the latest business line inputs and economic assumptions are being used to derive the most accurate and up-to-date forecasts possible.
  • Financial Reporting: Provide relevant financial updates to both Tangerine and Scotiabank senior executives and the Tangerine Board of Directors as required.
  • Team Leadership: Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates your team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors.
Requirements
  • Relevant Experience: Relevant experience at a financial institution in Treasury, Product, Economics, or Finance roles.
  • Leadership Experience: Relevant experience at a financial institution, leading complex, multi-facet projects, process improvement initiatives, and/or technology roadmaps.
  • Senior Executive Interaction: Experience interacting with senior executives on a regular basis.
