Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Clerk is a key member of the Shared Health team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in the Diagnostic Imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and processing patient requisitions and scheduling diagnostic imaging examinations using the Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Acting as a receptionist to patients, providing a warm and welcoming experience
  • Obtaining, entering, and updating patient/film information and registering patients on the computer system
  • Retrieving digital images, filing, and retrieving DI films/digital images and CDs/DVDs
  • Providing digital images/films to physicians upon request and sending digital images/films and/or reports to various facilities
  • Performing other related duties as assigned, including administrative tasks and data entry
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a patient registration or medical administrative role is an asset
  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent is required
  • Successful completion of a recognized Medical Administrative Assistant Program or a recognized medical secretary program is preferred
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to stressful situations
  • Good keyboarding skills and accuracy are necessary

  • Physically capable of assisting patients in wheelchairs
