Job Opportunity

The Representative for Children and Youth's Office is seeking a highly skilled Child and Youth Advocacy Specialist to join their team.

About the Role

This is a term position ending March 31, 2024, and is restricted to residents of Iqaluit only. The successful candidate will work closely with the Representative for Children and Youth to ensure that legislation, policies, and programs provide ethical, equitable, and consistent outcomes for young Nunavummiut and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and systemic advocacy for children and youth
  • Conduct reviews of critical injuries and deaths
  • Develop and implement public awareness and education programs
  • Collaborate with government agencies and community organizations to promote the rights and well-being of children and youth
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child and youth advocacy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
