Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Inuksuk Infant Development Centre. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young children.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Lead activities that promote learning and development, such as storytelling, singing, and outings to local points of interest.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Encourage children to express their creativity through various mediums, such as art, music, and dramatic play.
  • Support children in developing good habits, such as eating, dressing, and using the bathroom.
  • Monitor children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues and report to parents or guardians as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with licensing regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and address any concerns.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and community service providers to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, including planning and implementing activities that promote physical activity and well-being.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of other Early Childhood Educators and assistants.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • 5 years or more of experience in Early Childhood Education.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, and values and ethics.
