The Opportunity:

ML6, a highly regarded Vancouver Island-based co-operative, is seeking a strategic leader to drive its people and culture initiatives.

As VP, People and Culture, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that foster a positive and inclusive work environment, driving employee engagement, and supporting the company's mission to build strong communities and benefit its member-owners.

With 17 retail fuel and convenience centres, 10 liquor stores, commercial card lock, and home heating operations, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of employees and customers alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement people and culture strategies that align with the company's mission and values
  • Lead and manage a team of HR professionals to deliver exceptional employee experiences
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to drive business outcomes through people and culture initiatives
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role
  • Strong business acumen and ability to drive business outcomes through people and culture initiatives
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with employees, customers, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
