Job Title: Assistant Deputy Minister & Chief Information Officer

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Deputy Minister & Chief Information Officer. This position is a key member of the LDB's Senior Executive Team and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in the effective planning, implementation, and sustainment of information systems and supporting infrastructure technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and budgets for IT initiatives
  • Provide vision and direction to LDB executive and senior management staff on corporate and IT issues
  • Oversee the negotiation and administration of license agreements for technologies and their compliance to LDB technology standards
  • Lead the strategic planning processes of the IT division and develop policies and programs to respond to changes in IT business environments
  • Participate in the development and administration of an annual capital budget for all LDB technological projects
  • Guide the development and administration of the annual IT operating budget
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or business management
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive management experience in an IT environment
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
