Job Summary:

The Registrar is a strategic leader responsible for the overall direction and management of the Registrar's Office at Algonquin College. This role requires a high level of expertise in academic and administrative policy, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Registrar's Office, ensuring the effective and efficient administration of academic and administrative policies.
  • Manage a team of employees, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure the success of the office.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with Ministry requirements and applicable legislation.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of information systems and outcomes, including the administration of financial aid and student awards.
  • Provide regular presentations and reports to the College Leadership Team, Executive Team, and Board of Governors on key issues and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish enrolment and service targets, processes, and growth and retention strategies.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Social Sciences or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 11 years of related experience, with a minimum of 8 years in a leadership role with people management experience.
  • Strong understanding of the College's range of activities and programs, the Ontario postsecondary environment, and the intersection between the College and the postsecondary landscape.
  • Excellent client service, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Large budget management and related financial experience, certification, and/or analysis an asset.
  • Leadership, team building, and delegation skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead authentically and with high emotional intelligence.
  • Exemplary communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
