About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Rocky Mountaineer. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of culinary staff to ensure seamless service delivery and high-quality food preparation.
  • Develop and implement culinary menus and recipes that showcase local ingredients and cuisine.
  • Collaborate with onboard leadership to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and ordering processes.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management to team members.
  • Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef to achieve culinary excellence.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience in a culinary role.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in line or restaurant cooking.
  • Red Seal Culinary Certification is preferred.
  • BC Food Safe Certification required.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
