Craftsman Collision is a leading auto body repair chain in Canada, committed to excellence and employee satisfaction. We're seeking a skilled Operations Trainee to support our operations manager in the Okanagan region.

This role involves assisting multiple locations in the region, providing leadership and guidance to ensure efficient and effective shop operations. The successful candidate will have a competitive salary range between $45,000 - $55,000 per year, along with 3 weeks of paid vacation.

The Operations Trainee will be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and continuously improving the customer experience;
  • Supporting daily operations and ensuring stakeholder objectives are met in a safe and effective manner;
  • Managing shop operations in alignment with The Craftsman Way (TCW);
  • Providing vacation coverage as required under the direction of the regional operations manager;
  • Utilizing company dashboards to accurately identify and prioritize tasks;
  • Actively participating in daily production meetings;
  • Maintaining professional relationships with all stakeholders;
  • Writing estimates and scheduling repairs as required;
  • Using the Craftsman Management System to enter parts and sublet invoices as required;
  • Applying expert knowledge of insurance and fleet-specific policies and procedures;
  • Supporting daily production, workflow, and quality control of the shop;
  • Working with assigned Operations team members and Shop Manager to follow operational goals and objectives;
  • Proactively reducing effort to increase touch time and reduce vehicle days in shop;
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and guidelines;
  • Bringing forward suggestions for training needs and process improvements;
  • Supporting company standards in SPARKLE, safety, and security;
  • Representing and promoting the Craftsman Collision brand in a positive manner.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field preferred;
  • Working towards I-CAR Platinum certification an asset;
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening skills, combined with the ability to interact with senior leadership and decision-makers;
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
  • Demonstrated time management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented attitude;
  • Proficient in Outlook and video conferencing platforms with the ability and willingness to learn new applications;
  • Demonstrated desire and aptitude for learning and development;
  • Interest in vehicles and the automotive industry;
  • Knowledge and proficiency in ADAS systems, vehicle calibrations, and emerging vehicle technologies an asset;
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract over the last 3 years;
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions.
