Operations Trainee Job Description

Craftsman Collision is a leading auto body repair chain in Canada, committed to excellence and customer satisfaction. We're seeking an Operations Trainee to support our Metro Vancouver operations manager and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in daily operations, ensuring stakeholder objectives are met in a safe, effective, and positive manner.
  • Support management of shop operations in alignment with The Craftsman Way (TCW).
  • Provide vacation coverage as required under the direction of the regional operations manager.
  • Utilize company dashboards to accurately identify and prioritize tasks.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Write estimates and schedules repairs as required.
  • Enter parts and sublet invoices using the Craftsman Management System.
  • Apply expert understanding and application of all insurance/fleet specific policies and procedures.
  • Support daily production, workflow, and quality control of the shop.
  • Work with assigned Operations team members and Shop Manager to follow operational goals and objectives.
  • Proactively reduce effort to increase touch time and reduce vehicle days in shop.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Bring forward suggestions for training needs and process improvements.
  • Support company standards in SPARKLE, safety, and security.
  • Represent and promote the Craftsman Collision brand in a positive manner.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field preferred.
  • Working towards I-CAR Platinum certification an asset.
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening skills, combined with the ability to interact with senior leadership and decision-makers.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated time management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Proficient in Outlook and video conferencing platforms with the ability to learn new applications.
  • Demonstrated desire and aptitude for learning and development.
  • Interest in vehicles and the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in ADAS systems, vehicle calibrations, and emerging vehicle technologies an asset.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract over the last 3 years.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions.
