As a vital member of our retail team at Canna Cabana, the Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional shopping experiences for our customers. Reporting to the Store Manager, this individual will oversee day-to-day retail operations, ensuring seamless execution and exemplary customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to facilitate smooth store operations and maintain high standards.
  • In the absence of the Store Manager, assume responsibility for supervising daily activities and making key decisions.
  • Provide guidance on personnel management tasks, such as interviews, promotions, and performance reviews, as required.
  • Lead and direct store associates, providing direction, guidance, and instruction as needed.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to established store conditions and standards.
  • Assist in creating weekly staffing schedules to meet business needs.
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure effective communication and expectations are met.
  • Greet and assist customers, modeling excellent behavior for other staff members.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation among all staff members.
  • Handle customer complaints, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Maintain adherence to health, safety, and security regulations, meeting required standards.
  • Oversee and assist in inventory management.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and College/CEGEP/vocational or technical training required.
  • Demonstrated service orientation and strong customer service skills.
  • Valid Selling It Right certification mandatory.
  • Valid Criminal Background Check required prior to start date.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in the retail industry is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a supervisory role in a retail environment is required.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and motivate staff required.
  • Skills to monitor and assess staff performance necessary.
  • Basic office administration skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity suite highly valued.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills essential.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Availability for shift work, Monday to Sunday, according to business needs.
  • Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends, as well as different locations.
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills essential.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable health and safety legislation.
  • A professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is mandatory.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards. The salary range may vary depending on the individual's qualifications and experience.
