About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our team in a clinical leadership role.

As an Occupational Therapist II, you will play a key part in providing consultation and assessment services to children and adolescents with complex mental health issues and developmental disorders. Your expertise will be instrumental in contributing to the development of mental health assessments and providing clarity on DSM-V diagnoses.

You will work collaboratively with other professionals to formulate effective case plans, facilitate referrals, and explore presenting problems from a client-focused perspective. Your ability to assess clients' coping skills and social support systems will be vital in developing appropriate service plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy assessment and consultation services to children and adolescents with complex mental health issues and developmental disorders.
  • Contribute to mental health assessments and provide clarity on DSM-V diagnoses in collaboration with other professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with families and community service providers to develop and implement effective service plans.
  • Explore presenting problems from a client-focused perspective and assess clients' coping skills and social support systems.
  • Make day-to-day clinical decisions regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up care for patients and their families.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience.
  • Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
  • Preferred qualifications include knowledge of DSM-V diagnosis, Brain Story Certification, school-based experience, knowledge of community resources, experience working with Neurodevelopmental disorders, and experience working with Psychosis.
