Geotechnical Monitoring Systems Specialist

Sixense Northern America is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Monitoring Systems Specialist to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area.
This role involves designing, supplying, installing, and maintaining monitoring systems for geotechnical projects. As a specialist in this field, you will work closely with our project managers to ensure successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Design and implement monitoring systems for geotechnical projects, ensuring they meet technical requirements and company policies.
- Provide technical expertise and support to project managers, including design recommendations, quality control, and managerial assistance.
- Perform tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of monitoring systems, adhering to company methods and practices.
- Prepare submittals, designs, material purchases, and accurate record-keeping.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil/Geotech preferred).
- Registration with Provincial Professional Association of Engineers (an asset).
- OSHA 10-hour safety training and First Aid/CPR certification.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in instrumentation and monitoring engineering.
- Basic knowledge of job costing procedures and ability to suggest recommendations to project managers for project-related decisions.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook relative to reporting site construction and engineering activities.
As a Geotechnical Monitoring Systems Specialist, you must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving heavy materials, climbing, crawling, and working long hours in all weather conditions. You should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, time-management skills, rational decision-making ability, and attention to detail.
Estimated Salary:$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
