Job Title: Health Safety Security Director
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Safety Security Director to join our team at AccorHotel. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our colleagues, guests, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safe work practices, employee safety procedures, and awareness programs to minimize injuries in the workplace.
- Manage all aspects of physical hotel security, including security personnel, keys, access control, passcodes, security cameras, alarms, and guest room security.
- Develop and deliver security and workplace health and safety orientation programs.
- Investigate and report on internal and external security and health-related incidents or reports.
- Conduct regular audits of departments and provide expert recommendations.
- Work with external groups and/or security agencies on security measures for special events, groups, or VIPs.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and community peers on security-related matters.
- Lead and develop strategies, communication, training, and coaching of all employees for emergency systems and procedures.
- Manage business continuity and crisis management programs, including training, record-keeping, and updates to documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate loss prevention, health & safety, and security guidelines and procedures.
- Own hotel health and safety programs and training, including safe work practices, employee security procedures, awareness programs, and accident prevention.
- Develop and deliver fire response and evacuation training for all internal stakeholders.
- Chair the joint occupational health & safety committee, conducting monthly reporting and training for awareness, leading and training committee members and department managers in the development and execution of strategies to improve the overall health and wellness of the hotel community.
- Manage and conduct regular security patrols to ensure adequate presence in all parts of the property.
- Manage Occupational First Aid training and records for applicable staff.
- Manage security video systems, including access, storage, and training according to hotel protocols.
- Ensure First Aid kits and equipment are maintained and stocked in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a comparable industry.
- Minimum 2 years of security, health & safety, or loss prevention experience.
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends & holidays, mornings, midday, evenings, & overnights.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop trusting relationships and foster cooperation.
- Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification is an asset.
- Attention to detail.
- Self-starter and able to work unsupervised.
- Must be able to react well and have the ability to be assertive under pressure.
- Comfortable dealing with security-related issues.
- Valid BC Security worker license is an asset.
- WorkSafeBC Certificate of Recognition Auditor certification is an asset.
