We are seeking a highly skilled Winter Maintenance Operator to join our team at Miller Paving Limited.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading provider of construction and maintenance services for transportation infrastructure. As a Winter Maintenance Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient removal of snow and ice from local roads and highways.

You will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment, including plows, spreaders, and loaders, as well as performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on these vehicles. Your excellent communication and teamwork skills will also be essential in collaborating with other crew members and following contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a spreader, plow wing, combo unit, and/or tow plow to perform snow removal on local roads and highways
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including fuel reports, safety reports, and hours of service
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
  • Familiarize yourself with route maps and sand/salt application rates
  • Meet call-in requirements during winter storm events
Requirements and Qualifications
  • DZ or AZ license with a clean driver's abstract required
  • Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
  • Ability to operate a loader and perform other maintenance duties, such as patrolling, patching, and minor equipment maintenance
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, extended hours, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to drive manual transmission
  • Previous experience in winter-works operations
  • Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required
  • Good understanding of MTO standards and AMC Contract Performance Requirements
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
