Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert nutrition advice and guidance to patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Develop and implement nutrition care plans to prevent, detect, and treat malnutrition and medical nutrition therapy
- Participate in the Dietetic Practicum and Internship program, including preceptoring and mentoring Dietetic Students
- Employ an evidence-informed approach to practice, staying up-to-date with the latest research and guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide high-quality, patient-centered care
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Dietitian who possesses the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized University
- Dietetic Internship Program completion
- Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists
- Minimum one year working experience as a Dietitian, preferably in inpatient clinical nutrition
- Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
- Experience counseling patients and working with interprofessional healthcare teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under pressure
- Participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills
What We Offer
The Nova Scotia Health Authority offers a competitive salary of $43.43 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
Working Hours
This is a permanent part-time position, working 70% FTE, 52.5 hours biweekly, with flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
