Accounts Payable Specialist

A detail-oriented and organized individual is required to join our team as an Accounts Payable Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payment documents, maintaining ledgers, and investigating account irregularities.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate and up-to-date ledgers and credit balances
- Investigate and resolve account irregularities and discrepancies
- Process and post invoices and expenses in a timely manner
- Prepare and distribute payment reports and statistics to key personnel
- Audit purchase requests for materials, supplies, equipment, and other collateral
- Verify that orders are charged to the proper accounts
- Review bills to the company for potential errors and/or discrepancies
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or misapplied transactions
- Review all credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and apply adjustments and/or corrections to corporate billing records
- 2 years of experience in a high-paced office setting
- Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls
- Accounts Payable experience considered an asset
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and computerized accounting applications
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
