Accounting Manager Opportunity at Cooper Equipment Rentals

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at Cooper Equipment Rentals. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for leading the month-end close process, managing the accounting team, and preparing financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end close process and implement process improvements.
  • Manage the accounting team and provide guidance on financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review various balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Utilize analytical review techniques to ensure accurate reporting and identify errors.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and ad-hoc reports to support business decisions.
  • Implement and maintain accounting and internal control policies and procedures.
  • Manage new projects that add value to the organization.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting.
  • Accounting designation required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an accounting managerial role.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of audit experience.
  • Previous experience in a related field and knowledge of rental construction equipment is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Prior experience with Texada and Blackline is an asset.
  • Proficient with full-cycle accounting.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
