Job Summary

Fed IT is seeking a Senior IT Technician to join our team in Montreal West. This is a permanent position in hybrid mode, with an hourly salary to be discussed based on experience.

About the Role

As a Senior IT Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing IT systems, including servers, networks, and workstations. You will diagnose and resolve complex technical problems encountered by users, manage incidents and level 2 and 3 support requests, and install, configure, and update hardware and software.

Detailed Job Description
  • Maintain and manage IT systems, including servers, networks, and workstations
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems encountered by users
  • Manage incidents and level 2 and 3 support requests, in collaboration with the support team
  • Install, configure, and update hardware and software
  • Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects, such as system migrations, new software deployments
  • Evaluate security risks and implement countermeasures to ensure the security of IT systems
  • Document technical procedures and configurations, and maintain up-to-date knowledge bases
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on the team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in computer science or related field
  • At least 5 years' professional experience as an IT technician or in a similar position
  • Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and/or MacOS environments, with knowledge of AD and Office 365
  • Solid network administration skills (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
  • Experience in server management (physical and virtual) and storage systems
  • Proven competence in IT security and risk management
  • Excellent ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently and manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Professional certification (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) is an asset
