Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As an Eating Disorders Nurse Specialist, you will provide compassionate and professional nursing care to patients with eating disorders and their families.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong assessment and treatment skills. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide education and treatment to individuals and groups. Your primary responsibilities will include performing medical monitoring and assessments, meal support therapy, suicide and self-harm assessments, mental status examination, and daily mental health support.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this role is $43.82 per hour. Please note that provisional permit holders will be paid at a rate of $35.87 per hour until they are registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Recent experience in acute inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, with 1-2 years' experience working with eating disorder clients and their families/supports
  • Experience in addictions and medical complications related to eating disorders
  • Skills in psychiatric and medical assessment, crisis intervention, and leadership
