Department of Indigenous Learning Faculty Position

Lakehead University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in the Department of Indigenous Learning. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of Indigenous intellectual traditions and Indigenous/settler relations.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and develop courses in Indigenous Studies, including experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery.
- Conduct research and publish in Indigenous Studies, with a focus on community relationships and innovative pedagogical practices.
- Engage in service to the department, faculty, and university, including committee work and community outreach.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Indigenous Studies or an Indigenous Studies-related field, with experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations. Lived experience as an Indigenous person with strong ties to Indigenous nation(s) and Indigenous knowledges is considered a significant asset.
