Job Title: Operations and Relations Manager

The University of Waterloo is seeking an experienced Operations and Relations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Network for Aging Research (NAR), you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our research and outreach mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the NAR, including financial management, relations management, events management, and communications.
  • Provide advice and counsel to the Director of the NAR on administrative matters.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support the advancement of aging research at the University of Waterloo and external partners.
  • Coordinate and assist in implementing communication activities of the NAR, including web, email, printed material, press releases, and social media.
  • Work closely with the Director and University and Faculty Communications to ensure timely and audience-targeted communication of NAR activities, events, collaboration opportunities, and relevant research results.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to Business Administration, Finance, Health, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master's degree in Education, Business/Finance, or Health is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in a similar administrative support role, including demonstrated experience with financial management.
  • Experience in successfully managing events for a wide audience.
  • Previous work experience in a university research centre or institute, or business with similar activity.
  • Excellent human relations skills, especially the ability to guide and develop staff and foster constructive team relationships.
  • Solid computer competency, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, web applications, and applications specific to UW.
