Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paramedic to join our team as a Community Paramedic. As a Community Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing immediate or scheduled medical supervision and treatment to patients in the community setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess emergency scenes and patients, and provide emergency treatment as needed
  • Transport ill or injured patients from scenes of emergency and/or between facilities
  • Administer medications, advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and electrical therapy as required
  • Lead ALS crews in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes
  • Ensure ambulances or other EMS vehicles are properly stocked and equipped
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program
  • Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits
  • Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (test taken no more than six (6) months prior to the application date)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education and/or experience in Community Health Services, nursing, social work, geriatric medicine, palliative medicine, chronic disease management, primary care, community pharmacology
  • Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to achieve best patient care practices
  • Experience working in and demonstrated strong understanding of community senior living such as supportive living sites, independent living lodges, and long-term care
