We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Counsel to join our legal team at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). As a key member of our Global Employment Law team, you will provide counsel and legal advisory services to AMD in HR and labor-related matters for our Canada locations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide employment law guidance for the full employment lifecycle, including statutory and other HR-compliance guidance in Canada.
- Offer guidance on certain multi-jurisdictional employment law project areas, such as disability accommodation processes, coordinating with outside counsel and other team members as needed.
- Support M&A activities in employment law areas as assigned, with prior experience in this area being a plus.
- Train clients and business groups as needed on employment law topics of importance.
- Relevant experience as a practicing lawyer with in-house or industry-specific legal experience in Canada is strongly preferred.
- Have a progressive work history with in-house and/or private practice experience, providing legal counsel to clients for employment law matters in Canada.
- Be proficient in partnering with clients to provide practical solutions while mitigating risk.
- Be comfortable working remotely with clients, colleagues, and business partners in the US and other international regions.
- Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD).
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
