About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Counsel to join our General Counsel office in Aviva Canada. As a key member of our corporate legal team, you will provide first-class legal advice and support to our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality legal advice and support to the Aviva Canada business.
  • Collaborate with senior management and executives to drive business growth and success.
  • Manage projects, negotiations, and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business partners and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing laws and regulations, and provide guidance on their impact on the business.
What You'll Bring
  • Call to a provincial Canadian bar with a current license.
  • Minimum of 8 years of post-qualifying in-house and/or law firm experience.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge and experience in Canadian corporate and commercial law.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with team members, peers, and collaborators.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
